Support

Program components offered by Strive through a multidisciplinary and school based approach include:

  • School based and outreach supports for educational attainment
  • Developmentally appropriate, high quality childcare
  • Trained staff, knowledgeable in the areas of parenting and child development
  • Family planning services
  • Prenatal and preventative health care and
  • Case management, including the planning and coordination of multidisciplinary services.

In addition, with our partners, services and supports include:

  • Counseling and emotional support
  • Parenting and life skills training;
  • Goal setting
  • Vocational / career counseling
  • Niagara College Recruitment
  • Budgeting guidance
  • Crisis intervention
  • Academic credit for high school graduates in partnership with the District School Board of Niagara and Niagara Catholic District School Board
  • Home visiting, health services and support in partnership with Niagara Regional Public Health Department and Healthy Babies / Healthy Children
  • One-on-one and group counseling regarding healthy relationships and family violence in partnership with Design for a New Tomorrow
  • Pre-employment and employability skills in partnership with Career Training

Through informal partnerships and referrals, Strive helps young parents connect with housing, mental health services, healthy sexuality counseling, food and material donations.
